A nice place to go for a walk. Short and long walks. lots of wildlife around the lake.

The far side of the road offers numerous trails (some better groomed then others), plus there is off leash area's for your dog's. A lovely little swamp is within a fifteen minute walk one way from the Bates parking lot - it's a good place to view birds, listen to frogs, possibly catch a glimpse of a beaver, maybe meditate.

Suggest you grab a trail map. The maps are available in a wooden box at/near the parking lot or just beyond the main gate entrance on the opposite side.

The trails are very well kept, and this is a large park.

Easy to get lost but mostly easy walking trails; just watch your footing. Other dog walkers & cyclists encountered so be aware of your surroundings.

Plenty of parking and washrooms ( porta potty) near the main parking area

The only issue is a lack of signage and trail names / markers throughout .... So if you are considering taking the ' long ' perimeter trails for a walk or run, I'd recommend taking your phone with the Trailforks app installed ( and Seal Bay Park area downloaded to the app )

Amazing trails. Especially great after a rainfall; the way the moss, and trees glisten with the sun I stunning! The trails are well kept and are a pleasure to walk through.

Awesome trails on either side of Bates Road. The parking lot side leads down to the ocean, fairly steep in places - but it's a short walk - maybe slightly over a half hour in total, if you are going at leisurely pace. The beach itself is rocky, uneven surfaces - difficult walking.

Note; you may encounter horses, runner's & mountain bikes - please be courteous to fellow travelers - thank you. Also, dog's are NOT allowed OFF LEASH ANYWHERE in park during the month's April, May & June.

Seal Bay RV Park is not within Seal Bay Nature Park itself - but is close in proximity & has access to a entrance that is within easy walking distance.
