Pay a visit to our local Museum. Contrary to popular belief Vancouver Island is not moving out to sink at sea. We are in fact slowly rising and moving towards the mainland, and this whole area has once been submerged under seawater, which is why the Museum sports a real big Elasmosaurus hanging from the ceiling - go check it out!

This museum blew away my expectations for a small town attraction. The paleontology exhibits were shockingly good with just the right amount of do-it-yourself aesthetic (the quirky paper mache pterodactyl). The local history including First Nations was well represented and accessible.

Don't miss this. Yes it is small but very well laid out and the staff are super knowledgeable. We lived in the Valley for over 10 year and did not know the Dinosaur history of our region.

Good interpretation, and very interesting. This museum does a great job of exhibiting items that are particularly of local interest but with reference to the global significance. I love visiting and am very proud to recommend it to visitors from overseas.

Very nice museum. Old building with very modern interior. A place to learn about the Courtney and Comox history.
