  They have the nastiest receptionist I have ever met! I live with a compression fracture since last September. It is extremely painful. A trip to the clinic from Powell River is long and painful. Twice I showed up early for an appointment because the pain was so intense and not being from Courtenay I had nowhere to go until the time of my appointment. 2 weeks ago, I had emergency appendectomy in Powell River. The next day, while still groggy from the meds, this receptionist called me from the clinic and scolded me for showing up too early and told me not to do this again! I tried to explain but she wouldn't listen, ended up scheduling an appointment for Feb 15th, an impossible date for me. Too bad I was still sort of groggy from the meds otherwise she would have gotten a piece of my mind. I am 70 years old and never have I dealt with such a rude receptionist. I don't even feel like going back. Dr Matous is good but I just don't think I want to deal with this nasty woman anymore! This uncivilized woman shouldn't be in her position where she can mistreat the patients. Anyway, I like my doctor but won't go back unless I get a written apology from the receptionist. Don't expect any courtesy at the front desk!
